Some people assume I must live a very lonely life – always on the road away from family and friends, but that couldn’t be further from the truth! Not only am I constantly meeting new people, but I’m always making plans with my fellow nomads to hang out in real life.

There’s nothing like hanging out with people who totally understand your lifestyle. Chatting about your favorite cities, the best wifi cafes, annoying clients and secret packing techniques is a ton a fun. So how do you find these amazing people?

You can go to a nomad hot spot like Chiang Mai, Berlin or any Mexican beach town and hang out in a cafe. OR you can be much more efficient and find awesome digital nomads online! I make connections with people through Twitter, my Facebook page, and of course this blog. But it’s not always easy, especially if you’re a bit nervous to reach out.

A couple of my best friends have solved this problem by creating the awesome new site Find A Nomad. Once you sign up, you’ll see a map of the world with the current locations of a ton of amazing digital nomads!

Find A Nomad

It gives you an easy way to contact people (after stalking their profile of course) in a pressure-free environment. After all, people wouldn’t put themselves on the map if they didn’t want to meet up!

My favorite feature is that you can put in your future planned trips and, when it gets close to arrival time, you’ll get an email letting you know who else will be in the area at the same time! It’s a hassle-free way to find other location independent entrepreneurs and (possibly) your new best friend!

See you on the map!

Disclosure: As I said, I’m friends with the creators, but I received no compensation whatsoever for writing this. I just think it’s an awesome site!

Hi Kit, thanks for blogging about this, it’s so great to see people loving it (I did all the coding for the site :) I’ve met a few people on there and it’s such a great feeling to meet other people doing the same thing as you. And M&R just attract such nice people.
